National Kite Festival and some cherry blossoms

As if being home to the National Building Museum, the National Arboretum and the ever-winning Washington Nationals baseball team was not enough, Washington DC also hosts the National Kite Festival.
Hundreds of kites celebrated by swooping and diving around the National Mall today.

My favorite kite was a seascape that looked like it came from Finding Nemo.

We met up with Emily and wandered over to the cherry blossoms around the tidal basin to celebrate the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Unfortunately people were everywhere, and we didn't get any good pictures of the whole mess of trees. We're going to come back sometime when the flood of people have drained from the tidal basin.

The trees around our apartment are leaking blooms like crazy.

Now you have spring! Cherry blossoms must look spectacular! I like the Nemo kite with the extra Nemos swimming right along. Thanks
