25 seconds in spain

this is it. this is the only video i took all summer. better be worth it (it's not).

anytime i wish i had more video i just watch the opening sequence from midnight in pairs and pretend it's mine.

also, i'm thinking of a blog makeover. what do you think of this? meow.

meow.

alhambra

while in granada we toured the alhambra. it is a palace and fortress built in the 10th century while the rest of europe was burning witches and building outhouses. the alhambra is on a hill near a ski resort in the sierra nevadas, which i initially thought was a little joke our guide book told us. it was 100 degrees when we were there. this place has been occupied, and added onto, by everyone from a muslim sultan to christian conquistadors. i absolutely loved the moorish architecture and the intricate details of arabic script.

and i sorta felt like we were in an agatha christie mystery movie, you know?

granada

granada, in southern spain, is beautiful.

to get there we rode over hills covered in neat rows of vineyards and olive orchards. each one claimed by an old, stone cottage. the sun in granada is so orange and pink that i was always thinking of fruit juice.

granada reminded us of rome and we reminisced about our honeymoon. we saw three weddings as we wandered around and, as we watched the third bride walk into a church on the arm of her father, i felt like i was a part of it.
