DC Snowmageddon

We got an Idaho-sized blizzard for the second time this year.

We made a fancy sled out of a trashed piece of cardboard and a garbage bag.

Worked like a charm.

Z Burger offered to sell $1 cheeseburgers if the snow piled up over a foot, so we took the almost two hour trip north (two hours because the metros were extremely delayed), and it was worth it.

Goodbye arteries.

They say it's going to take 48 hours after the last snow fall to get the city clean.

Cool mistake.

This was a half-second exposure and we had no tripod, so Laura was the tripod. She kept extraordinarily still.

We met up with Jess and Amol. They were involved in an epic snow battle earlier (it made the BBC), and met up with us for some hot chocolate.

We rode the metro . . . map elephant

I know I probably should have grown past this stage, but I've always wanted to slide down a metro escalator. I think about it every time I walk down one, particularly when I'm in a hurry. Well, I finally got to live my life's dream (more or less).

I can die a happy man.

After this Laura was caught, and we were asked politely to leave. Why does that always happen to us?

I particularly like how you squeak at the end of your dream slide, Robert!
