i graduated in cute shoes

don't you think so?
I crossed a good one off my list last Thursday.
I have many more pictures to share with you,
but that'll have to wait.

we spent the weekend in twin falls

we were visiting my grandmother

this is a little school she went to as a child
she used to ride a horse to school

we worked on our list
and collected a few treasures

I can leave Rexburg

I've been a Dam Volunteer.
and while waiting for the marathon runners
to show up at mile marker #8
I decided to exercise a little creativity.

and none of the marathon runners stopped
to drink the water, or the Gatorade,
or use the Vaseline, or eat those energy packs.
so I took care of those, too.

today is this year's marathon.
so cheer on any runners you see!

Rexburg Farewell Tour

Remember Kareem Abdoul Jabar's farewell tour? I certainly don't, but I'm aware that it took place. Well, Laura and I are feeling wistful about our upcoming move away from Rexburg, and though we are excited about moving to that other Washington, we are going to miss Rexburg. As a coping mechanism, we have decided to create a series of farewell blogs.

#1 The Demolition Derby
One day when I was missing school because I was sick, I saw a demolition derby portrayed in a movie starring that guy from "Night Court" (Harry Anderson?), and I thought, "Sometime when I'm not throwing up I'm going to go to one of those." And then I did. In Rexburg. With Laura. And soon, I'm going to miss this.

we cannot leave Rexburg until we're done

Megan is collecting live lists.
I thought it was a great idea and I wanted to make one of my own.

{a picture she took for our engagement}

I love the summers in Rexburg.
I'm sad this will be our last summer
since we are moving,
so I think we should live it up
while we're here.

so here's what we'll do:

  • Sleep in the desert under the stars
  • Play foursquare, kick-the-can, and hide-and-seek
  • Catch, clean, cook and eat a fish
  • Take a nap on a grassy hill
  • Create art
  • Take my bike to the tallest hill and ride all the way down as fast as I can
  • Play dress up
  • Listen to my grandma tell a story
  • Score a goal (but my teammates sure did!)
  • Drive with the windows down and the sunroof open and let the wind blow bubbles from the little wand
  • Build a fort
  • Eat at that one restaurant in St. Anthony
  • Take holga pictures like crazy
  • Make nachos from my little salsa garden
  • Wear cute shoes to my graduation
  • Visit the Saturday market
  • Watch hot air balloons launch
  • Float down a river
  • Sew something
  • Host a dance party (with just robert and I? then yes!)
  • Slide into home (I didn't exactly slide)
  • Pick berries on a Sunday afternoon
  • Take a hike
  • Sell art
  • Watch cartoons in my pajamas
  • Hit strangers with water balloons on a warm night
  • Lay out on the beach
  • Make a little movie
  • Eat ice cream like it’s going out of style
